This powerful clip from Tomorrowland chillingly reflects what humanity frequently does in the face of an emergency: goes to sleep, indulges oneself in self-pleasuring, looks away, or surrenders to self-pity or victimhood, or resentment for the circumstance, rather than meeting it fully awake with the soul of an adult who takes responsibility for what is in front of him/her. This is what Gurdjieff worked so hard to do to alert people to this gravitational pull of their psyche into a deep sleep, into the unreal, into loss of contact with objective reality. It is a potent force in all of us and requires that we face deeply our fear, our hurt, our distortions an be able to stand and take responsibility for the reality that faces us.
